Google Map Pack questions

What is the Google Map Pack?

The Google Map Pack, also called the local 3-pack, is the set of three businesses Google shows with a map at the top of local search results. Most people searching for a local service choose one of those three businesses instead of scrolling further.

How do I find my position in the Map Pack?

Search your main keyword on your phone, in a private or incognito window, while you're inside your service area. Check whether your business is in the three listings under the map. Results change by location, so check from a few different parts of town.

How do Google reviews affect Map Pack rankings?

Google ranks local results by relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews are a big part of prominence. They also decide who gets picked: BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey found 47% of consumers won't use a business with fewer than 20 reviews, and 74% only care about reviews from the last three months.

Where do the search and click-value numbers come from?

Search volumes and Google Ads bid ranges come from national keyword data (KeywordTool.io, November 2026) for a common search in each trade, scaled to your city's population. They're planning estimates, not exact local counts — your real numbers will vary.
